Prepare cake mix and bake in 13x9-inch banking pan according to cake mix box instructions (usually about 35-40 minutes at 350F). When cake tests done, remove cake from oven and poke holes in cake with wooden spoon handle. Cook sugar, milk, 1/2 of coconut until sugar melts. Pour over warm cake. When cool, frost with whipped topping and remaining coconut. Refrigerate. Even better if made 1 - 2 days ahead.
