Mix salt, yeast and sugar. Add warm milk and shortening. Gradually add flour until dough holds together. Knead well. Put in a large, greased bowl. Cover with waxed paper or small towel. Sit in warm place until dough doubles in size. Remove dough from bowl. Punch down and knead well. Roll out on counter. Knead more. Spray several 8-inch pie plates with Pam. Shape dough into medium egg-size balls. Place in greased pie plates (approximately 7 balls per plate). Let rise until doubled in size in a warm place. Bake at 375° approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
