Technical
Nitrous oxide dissolves into the liquid under 1–2 bar pressure; upon release the gas expands 200–300×, forming a foam. The foam’s stability is governed by the solubility of N₂O, which is maximized at 0–5 °C, and by emulsifiers that reduce coalescence of bubbles.
