Technical
Lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase, and laccase oxidatively cleave lignin and hemicellulose, generating phenolic acids and aldehydes that are further mineralized. The resulting breakdown products are converted to CO₂, water, and low‑molecular‑weight organic acids, reducing the mass and volume of waste.
