Mix some oil with the Flavacol. Flavacol is the secret ingredient! A teaspoon or two of Flavacol should be fine. Add enough of the oil to cover the bottom of the pot. Add kernels to the pot. 1 1/2 tablespoons of kernels make 3 cups popped popcorn. Set stove to medium heat. Top the pot, *for safety reasons, don't open it until its done. * Wait until you hear popping, shake the pot a bit to get the kernels at the bottom. Wait for the popping to stop. Add some butter (or oil) mixed with flavacol. Enjoy!
