Place 4 quarts of popped popcorn in large grocery bag. In a 2-quart microwave dish, put sugar, oleo and corn syrup. Place in microwave on High for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar and oleo. Then microwave on High for 4 minutes; do not stir. Remove from microwave; add 1/2 teaspoon soda. Stir well. Pour over popcorn and stir with wooden spoon; fold top of bag. Shake and insert into microwave for 1 1/2 minutes on High. Stop after 45 seconds; remove bag, shake and return to microwave for remaining 45 seconds. Empty into large pan and stir until cool.
